Whilst toile so often evokes a sense of traditional French pastoral scenes, I wanted to add a twist of the unexpected. Through use of clashing colours, and illustration mimicking a classic engraving style, I've woven elements of fantasy, play, and flying fish.
Designed for gift wholesale company Prey Ltd., to be used as a repeating pattern on various surfaces, including mugs and fabric.
Cirencester City council decided to raise money for the local wildlife trust and unite the community by launching the Cirencester Hare Festival, filling the town with hare statues painted by local artists.
My own hare, 'Hare To The Throne', was conceived whilst trying to think of terrible puns. With epaulettes of corn, daisy medals and berry jewels, I fused regal attire with aspects of the woods.
It was sold via auction on the 25th October 2015 in Cirencester's Bingham Hall.
Created for Prey's new line of 2015 gifts, a range of soaps and candles featuring my hand-illustrated motifs.
Prey wanted to give their toiletries a fresh approach, using a bright colour scheme and a painterly feel. Every motif features the fragrances of each item, highlighting the subtle scents of the essential oils used in their products.
Hereford's Verzon House - both hotel and restaurant - wanted to promote their new range of events, namely their Burger & Blues night, and newly introduced afternoon tea, through a range of adverts and flyers.
With a menu created only from local produce lying at the heart of their ethos, it seemed only natural to feature the Hereford cow at the centre of the design, and a simple theme throughout.
